1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies and web storage technologies (such as HTML5 LocalStorage) are small data files placed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone when you visit web applications. They allow our systems to recognize your browser, retain your session state, and deliver a smooth and responsive workstation experience.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

• Strictly Necessary Cookies: Essential for the operation of PDFtoMore. These include JWT security tokens for authenticated users, CSRF protection identifiers, and load-balancer routing state. Without these, core features cannot function.
• Preference & Functional Storage: Used to remember your visual and interface preferences, such as Dark Mode or Light Mode theme selection, recent tool shortcuts, and workspace layout configurations.
• Quota & Task Counter Storage: For guest users operating without an account, we use anonymous local keys (e.g. daily task counters) to accurately enforce the free tier fair-use policy (3 tasks/day) without logging personally identifiable data.
• Analytics & Telemetry: Anonymized performance signals that help our engineering team measure processing latency, error rates, and API throughput to maintain 99.9% uptime.

3. Managing & Opting Out

You can configure your browser at any time to reject all cookies, notify you when a cookie is placed, or delete existing stored tokens. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to your PDFtoMore account or saving processing favorites.
